 Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents.  SOLUDO APPOINTS DR. UWAEME AS NEW ASHIA EXECUTIVE SECRETARY

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has appointed Dr. Ezeaka Augustine Uwaeme as the new Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency.


Dr. Uwaeme, who hails from Ogwuikpele in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state, is a medical doctor with over 22 years of experience in Medicine and Surgery. He is known for his strong background in both clinical practice and healthcare administration.


The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime.


According to the statement, Dr. Uwaeme’s experience and leadership are expected to support ongoing efforts to improve the state’s health insurance system and ensure more residents have access to affordable and quality healthcare services.


His appointment is seen as part of the state government’s broader plan to strengthen the healthcare sector and build on the progress already made by ASHIA.
