Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  GOVERNOR YUSUF DIRECTS KASITDA TO INTRODUCE DIGITAL APPLICATION FOR URBAN PLANNING 


Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has directed the State Information and Communication Development Agency (KASITDA) to introduce a newly developed digital application for the Urban Planning Office in line with the State’s Digital Transformation Agenda (DTA).


Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari Director General Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority, KNUPDA, stated this during a strategic working visit to the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA). He said the initiative is designed to drive a seamless transition to electronic governance (e-Governance).


The DG explained that the project targets key sectors, including Health, Justice, and Lands Administration, enabling them to digitize operations and significantly improve the speed, quality, and accessibility of services delivered to the people of Kano State.


Describing the initiative as a transformative, cross-cutting intervention. Dr. Muzakkari noted that, when fully implemented, it will enhance operational efficiency, strengthen urban regulatory compliance, and improve transparency and security in government processes.
