 CBN CONCLUDES RECAPITULATION; BANKS RAISE ₦4.65 TRILLION TO BOOST FINANCIAL STABILITY  The Central Bank of Nigeria says it has successfully concluded the banking sector recapitalisation programme, strengthening the resilience of Nigeria’s financial system. According to the apex bank, lenders raised ₦4.65 trillion in fresh capital within 24 months, with over 72 percent sourced locally and about 27 percent from international investors—an indication of sustained confidence in the sector. CBN Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, says the exercise has reinforced banks’ capital base and improved their capacity to withstand economic shocks. The CBN confirms that 33 banks have met the revised minimum capital requirements, while a few others remain under regulatory processes, with all institutions continuing normal operations.  I Got Married in Secret - Gemma Collins Tells Fans in April Fools Prank


Gemma Collins had fans doing a double take on Tuesday after sharing what looked like a secret wedding photo, only for it to turn out to be a playful April Fools’ Day prank.


The former The Only Way Is Essex star, 45, posted a radiant picture of herself dressed as a bride on Instagram, instantly sparking excitement among her 2.2 million followers.


Alongside the snap, Gemma wrote, “Hey guys, I got married in secret recently. I didn’t marry as the GC, I married as the girl Rami Hawash knows pre fame.”


She continued the playful caption by describing it as “the most beautiful day with the most beautiful people in a room filled with love,” adding that she felt she had to share the news after stories had started to circulate.


For a moment, many fans appeared convinced.


The comments quickly filled with reactions, with some celebrity friends joining in on the joke.


Comedian Seann Walsh wrote, “It was my pleasure to walk you down the aisle.”


Meanwhile, John Grimes also played along, joking that it had been “such a beautiful day.”


While the post may have been a prank, Gemma’s real wedding plans are very much in motion.


She and Rami first began dating in 2011 and enjoyed an on-and-off romance for several years, including an earlier proposal in 2012 before splitting in 2014.


The couple found their way back to each other in 2020 after Gemma’s split from former co-star James Argent.


In 2024, Gemma revealed that Rami had proposed again, and the pair are now genuinely planning to tie the knot later this year.


Speaking recently about the upcoming celebrations, Gemma said she is hoping for more than one ceremony, including one in the UK, another abroad, and a more intimate gathering for close family and friends.


True to her larger-than-life style, she also revealed she plans to wear several different wedding dresses.


Away from the excitement, Gemma has also been candid about the emotional strain of her IVF journey.


Last week, during a preview of her new Sky series, she opened up about how deeply the process affected both her and her relationship.


“My relationship was obviously taking a bit of a hit,” she said. “I was trying to have a baby, my whole world just fell apart.”

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
