 “We Don’t Want Violent Politics In Kaduna,” Group Tells Political Parties, Urges Them to Call Supporters To Order The Kaduna Peace Ambassadors Forum has called on political parties in Kaduna State to caution their supporters and prevent further violence following recent clashes involving members of major political parties in the state. The group said Kaduna had enjoyed relative peace for a long period and should not return to an era of violent politics. In a statement, the forum expressed concern that political disagreements and clashes in the past had sometimes escalated into religious conflicts, with consequences for communities across the state. It therefore called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the recent clashes, while strengthening preventive measures to avoid a recurrence.  It’s not real - Old couple wins lottery again nearly 60 years after first big win, share it neighbors 


A retired couple in Melksham, Wiltshire, have found themselves celebrating a second life-changing win, decades after their first brush with fortune.


Postcode Lottery Millionaire Street draw selected their postcode, SN12 7HB, turning an ordinary neighbourhood into an unexpected group of winners. 


Pamela and Anthony Hiscocks were among seven households who will now share £1 million, with each home receiving about £142,857.


For Pamela, 79, the moment still feels unreal. Speaking to the BBC, she admitted, “We’ve been lucky in the past, but this is just amazing.” Her husband Anthony, 82, echoed the shock in a separate interview, saying, “It’s not real, I’m flabbergasted and gobsmacked.”


The couple’s plans are already taking shape, with Pamela imagining simple joys first, including a holiday together. 


“We can pay for everyone to have a once in a lifetime holiday. I’d like a cruise,” she said, adding that the timing also feels special as she approaches her 80th birthday and the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary.


Family celebrations are also on her mind, especially her granddaughter’s future wedding. 


Pamela shared that she would love to help make the occasion memorable, saying she hopes to treat her granddaughter and her partner as part of the windfall.


The win has also touched others in the close-knit street. Gary Walker, 57, who has known Pamela since childhood, described the moment as emotional for the whole community.


Among the winners are also Lesley, 77, and Philip, 79, another local couple. Lesley has been receiving treatment for lung and kidney cancer, and said the timing of the win brought comfort during a difficult period. 


“It’s the first bit of luck we’ve had for a long time,” she said. “Doctors told me they can’t cure me, but they can give me time.”


For Pamela, the shared nature of the prize has made it even more meaningful. She reflected on the bond between neighbours, saying the joy feels amplified because it is collective rather than individual.


“It’s lovely winning with a friend,” she said. “We’re so close and such good friends. I’d feel terrible if I’d won and she hadn’t.”
