 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse.  JAMB EXAMINATION: ANAMBRA POLICE COMMAND DEPLOYS SIXTY SAFE SCHOOL OPERATIVES TO MONITOR PROCESS, ENSURE SAFETY AND ORDERLINESS


The Anambra State Police Command has deployed sixty (60) Safe School Operatives across designated centres to monitor the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations scheduled to hold from 15th to 26th April 2026, in order to ensure safety, security, and orderliness throughout the exercise.


The deployment with the Operational base located in the respective eight (8) Police Area Command in the State is coordinated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, ACP Harrison Oruruo, psc, forms part of the Command’s proactive measures under the Safe School Initiative aimed at providing a secure environment for candidates, invigilators, and examination officials, while preventing any form of malpractice, disruption, or security breach.


The Command reassures the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property and urges candidates and other stakeholders to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security personnel on duty.
