Troops of the Nigerian Army, operatives of the DSS, and local volunteer forces have foiled a major bandit attack on Bagna and Erena communities in Shiroro LGA of Niger State.

Acting on credible intelligence, the joint team ambushed over 300 armed bandits advancing on motorcycles, neutralising scores and forcing others to flee toward the Makuba and Allawa axis.

Residents praised the swift response, describing it as a move that averted a potential disaster.

Meanwhile, Security sources say growing collaboration between security agencies and local volunteers is strengthening frontline defence and closing security gaps across affected communities.
