 Anambra Upgrades 130 Primary Health Centres, Recruits 1,000 Health Workers ‎ ‎ ‎By Ezumezu Nonyelum ‎ ‎ ‎The Anambra State Government says it has upgraded 130 primary health centres across the state as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare. Each facility has been equipped with solar power, a reliable electricity supply and a 30 KVA generator to ensure uninterrupted medical services. ‎ ‎The government said the initiative aligns with its policy of providing at least one fully functional primary health centre in every political ward and one general hospital in each of the state's 21 local government areas. ‎ ‎As part of the healthcare expansion, the Soludo administration has constructed five new general hospitals: Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru, Solution Specialist Hospital in Fegge, Onitsha, Solution Rehabilitation Centre in Nibo, Ekwulobia General Hospital in Aguata, and Solution General Hospital in Anaku, Anyamelum.  Kamala Harris says she 'might' run for president in 2028


Kamala Harris, the former vice president, has hinted that she may pursue another presidential run in 2028 after her loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 election. 


Speaking at the National Action Network Convention in New York alongside Rev. Al Sharpton, Harris acknowledged she is considering the possibility, noting her extensive experience in the Oval Office and Situation Room as preparation for the role. 


The audience responded enthusiastically, chanting “Run again!” as she discussed the future of American leadership.


Reflecting on her past campaigns, Harris recalled her first presidential bid in 2020, which ended before voting began, and her eventual rise to the Democratic nomination in 2024 after Joe Biden’s late withdrawal. 


With only 107 days to campaign, she was unable to overcome Trump’s dominance in swing states and the popular vote. 


Following the defeat, Harris authored a memoir titled 107 Days and embarked on a nationwide book tour, using the experience to frame her perspective on leadership and resilience.


As the 2028 Democratic primary begins to take shape, Harris joins a growing list of potential contenders, including Pete Buttigieg, JB Pritzker, Wes Moore, and Josh Shapiro. 


In her conversation with Sharpton, Harris emphasized that leadership must be about serving the American people rather than personal ambition. 


Her remarks suggest she is weighing not only her own future but also the broader direction of the Democratic Party as it prepares for the next presidential cycle.
