Kristin Cabot, once Chief People Officer at Astronomer, became an unexpected viral figure after the infamous Coldplay kiss cam incident in July 2025.
During the concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, she and CEO Andy Byron ducked when the camera landed on them, prompting Chris Martin to joke about an affair.
The clip spread worldwide, racking up over a billion views, and ultimately led to Byron’s resignation and Cabot stepping down from her role.
But while Byron faded from the spotlight, Cabot was left to deal with relentless public scrutiny, paparazzi outside her home, and hundreds of calls daily, which she says made her “unemployable.”
Cabot has since spoken out about the ordeal, describing the fallout as deeply damaging to her family.
She revealed that her children were embarrassed and even frightened by the attention, while she herself endured dozens of death threats.
In interviews, she clarified that she and Byron never had a physical relationship, though she admitted to having a crush on him and behaving inappropriately after a few drinks at the show.
Cabot also accused Byron of misleading her about his marital status, saying she believed he was separated at the time. His silence and continued wearing of a wedding band only fueled speculation.
Now, Cabot is working to reclaim her narrative. She has appeared at conferences and launched a seminar called Taking Back the Narrative, focusing on resilience and the dangers of digital pile-ons.
She has leaned on therapy for her children, tennis for herself, and advocacy against online harassment.
While she has no plans to attend another Coldplay concert, she admits it would be “great” if Chris Martin reached out.
Reflecting on the chaos, she blames platforms like TikTok for amplifying her pain, observing that “the more pain someone like me is in, the more money they are going to make.”
