 DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTED CRIMINALS, RECOVER TWO BERETTA PISTOLS, NINE ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION, SUSPECTED COCAINE, AND MERCEDES-BENZ SUV The Delta State Police Command has recorded another significant operational success with the arrest of two suspected criminals and the recovery of firearms, live ammunition, suspected cocaine, and other incriminating exhibits during a stop-and-search operation carried out by operatives of the Safer Highway Patrol along the Agbarho–Warri Road on 25 July 2026. The suspects, Omini Ezeri (46) and Chinedum Wagbara (42), both residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were intercepted while travelling in a grey Mercedes-Benz ML SUV with registration number AAA 604 JZ. During preliminary interrogation, a third occupant of the vehicle, God Knows Ifreke, suddenly took to his heels and escaped into a nearby swamp.  LAGOS NSCDC SMASHES BABY FACTORY IN BADAGRY, ARRESTS 2 SUSPECTS, RESCUES 28 VICTIMS, RECOVERS EXHIBITS.


The renewed charge of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD., mni, OFR to all State Commandants to deploy technology - driven intelligence towards combatting criminalities across the country has begun to yield immediate positive results particularly in Lagos State Command.


The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro while addressing newsmen today, Friday, 17th April, 2026, in Badagry disclosed that the Command's operatives in the axis during a strategically mounted surveillance which lasted for three ( 3 ) weeks eventually  smashed a baby factory in an overnight operation between Wednesday, 15th and Thursday, 16th April at Okuju, Ilado, Road 1, Zone 1 Area of Olorunda, Badagry.


He disclosed that the overnight operation, which was successfully carried out by the Command's operatives in Badagry resulted into the immediate arrest of two ( 2 ) suspects linked to the operation of the baby factory in the aforementioned house with their victims supposedly deceived through a Facebook account dedicated towards the recruitment of pregnant ladies willing to sell off their babies to interested buyers at post - delivery  between five hundred thousand ( N500,000 ) and one million ( N1,000,000 ) Naira. 


The operatives also rescued  twenty eight ( 28 ) victims out from the crime scene including ; seventeen ( 17 ) heavily pregnant women, one ( 1 ) male adult, ten ( 10 ) children including infants ( names of suspects withheld ).


Preliminary investigation also revealed that one of the victims lost her pregnancy as a result of the unhealthy environmental condition   she was vulnerable to just like others.


Other items recovered at the crime scene also include the following exhibits; one ( 1 ) pumping machine , one ( 1 ) generator set, six ( 6 ) standing fans, two ( 2 ) gas cylinders ( 12kg and 6kg respectively ), one ( 1 ) burner, two ( 2 )   large cooking pots, five ( 5 ) android phones, four ( 4 ) large mats and assorted food items.


The Lagos State Commandant has condemned the dastardly, inhumane and barbaric act often perpetrated by some desperate members of the society in the guise of chasing money through any crooked means.


The suspects and  victims have been immediately taken to the office of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons ( NAPTIP ) for a proper hand over and further investigation into the crime as he assured the general public that the culprits will be duely brought to book.
