 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo).  Latino New Yorkers file class action against Trump administration over alleged race-based ICE arrests

 A group of Latino New Yorkers has filed a class-action lawsuit against the Trump administration, challenging what they say are “race-based” and “warrantless” immigration arrests by federal agents. The 96-page complaint, filed in the Eastern District of New York, alleges that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is targeting Black and Brown individuals across the state, terrorizing communities and separating families.

The plaintiffs, ranging in age from 19 to 63, claim they were unlawfully stopped, arrested, and later released, and say they live in fear of being detained again because of their ethnicity. The suit seeks to create three classes: those stopped without suspicion, those subjected to discriminatory treatment, and those arrested without warrants. Civil rights organizations, including the New York Civil Liberties Union and Legal Aid Society, are joining in the case, which names the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the FBI as defendants. The plaintiffs are requesting a court order to prohibit immigration stops and arrests that are warrantless, suspicionless, or based on race, citing violations of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.
