 Set designer Mary Kate Golding found dead in Queens home as police investigate possible murder-suicide Police are investigating the deaths of television set designer Mary Kate Golding and her husband after the 34-year-old was found fatally stabbed inside her Queens home. According to the New York Police Department, officers responded shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21, to a residence in Astoria, where they found Golding with a fatal stab wound to her back. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Several hours later, at about 6:39 a.m., officers responded to a separate 911 call reporting an unconscious person near Astoria Park South and Shore Boulevard. Police found an unresponsive man in the park, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An NYPD source identified the man as Joseph Azzaretto, Golding's husband.  Latino New Yorkers file class action against Trump administration over alleged race-based ICE arrests

 A group of Latino New Yorkers has filed a class-action lawsuit against the Trump administration, challenging what they say are “race-based” and “warrantless” immigration arrests by federal agents. The 96-page complaint, filed in the Eastern District of New York, alleges that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is targeting Black and Brown individuals across the state, terrorizing communities and separating families.

The plaintiffs, ranging in age from 19 to 63, claim they were unlawfully stopped, arrested, and later released, and say they live in fear of being detained again because of their ethnicity. The suit seeks to create three classes: those stopped without suspicion, those subjected to discriminatory treatment, and those arrested without warrants. Civil rights organizations, including the New York Civil Liberties Union and Legal Aid Society, are joining in the case, which names the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the FBI as defendants. The plaintiffs are requesting a court order to prohibit immigration stops and arrests that are warrantless, suspicionless, or based on race, citing violations of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.
