 Somali PM calls on Somaliland to cut Israel ties, urges reconciliation Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has called on Somaliland’s leadership to cut ties with Israel and to resolve disputes with the federal government through dialogue. Barre said relations among Somalis should be addressed through talks rather than confrontation, in remarks during a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the establishment of North East State. In December 2025, Israel announced mutual recognition with Somaliland, a move strongly rejected by the Somali government as a breach of its sovereignty and territorial integrity and criticised by many countries across the world. “Regarding our brothers in Somaliland, I have nothing new to say.  ONE DEAD AS COMMERCIAL BUS CRASHES AT KIGUNA JUNCTION ON LAFIA ROAD 


A fatal road accident occurred in the early hours of today at Kiguna Junction along Lafia Road, leaving one person dead. The incident involved a commercial bus traveling from Pajat Park in Langtang North to Abuja.

The deceased has been identified as a female passenger, according to initial reports.

A female passenger has been confirmed dead following a serious road accident that occurred at Kiguna Junction along Lafia Road in the early hours of today.

According to reports from a correspondent, the crash involved a commercial bus en route from Pajat Park in Langtang North Local Government Area to Abuja. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear as of press time.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the incident happened in the early morning, though details regarding the number of passengers onboard and possible injuries have not yet been officially confirmed.

The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed, but sources confirmed that she died at the scene of the crash.
