OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS TERRORIST INFILTRATION, DISRUPTS LOGISTICS NETWORKS, ARRESTS COLLABORATORS The Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has recorded significant operational successes in its ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency campaign across the North-East. Through a combination of offensive operations, intelligence-led actions, and collaboration with local security stakeholders, troops successfully foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt and disrupted terrorist logistics and support networks, further degrading the operational capabilities of insurgent groups in the Theatre.  PDP Begins Renovation of Wadata Plaza National Secretariat

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, has commenced renovation works at the party’s national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja.

Journalists who visited the secretariat at Zone 5 on Monday observed that painting and other renovation activities were still ongoing as the faction prepares for the resumption of staff.

The renovation exercise started on Sunday, barely 24 hours after the Nigeria Police unsealed the premises and granted access to the Wike-aligned faction.

The barricades that had cordoned off the main office building have now been removed. A few police vehicles were still stationed around the premises, with personnel manning the facility.

A party member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that renovation works began on Sunday.

“The staff members of the party’s national secretariat are yet to resume, but the renovation works started yesterday (Sunday). The ongoing renovation works include painting, changing air conditioners, locks and keys to the offices, as well as their allocation to the new National Working Committee (NWC) members,” the source said.

The party member, however, expressed concern that some staff members loyal to the rival Tanimu Turaki-led NWC may find it difficult to resume duties at the secretariat under the new arrangement.

As of Monday afternoon, no party officials had yet reported to the secretariat for work.

The development follows the announcement on Saturday by the faction’s National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, that the police had reopened both the Wadata Plaza national secretariat and the presidential campaign office at Legacy House, Maitama.

The renovation is seen as the first major physical step by the Wike-led leadership to take firm control of the PDP national headquarters following weeks of legal and physical tussle between the two factions.
