Shania Twain set to host 61st Academy of Country Music Awards for first time in Las Vegas event
Shania Twain will host the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards for the first time, bringing one of country music’s biggest nights to Las Vegas.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will stream live globally on Prime Video on Sunday, May 17 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. The show will also be available through Amazon Music’s Twitch channel and the Amazon Music app.
Twain said in a statement that she is excited to take on hosting duties in a city she considers familiar and meaningful. She described the event as a major celebration of country music’s top artists and noted the strong presence of women among this year’s nominees. She added that she looks forward to welcoming both fans and performers for what she called an unforgettable night.
The awards show will feature performances and collaborations from several major country artists, including Cody Johnson, Kacey Musgraves, Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, and Riley Green, with additional performers expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Organizers said Twain’s selection as host continues a tradition of high-profile country music figures leading the ceremony, highlighting her long history with the ACM Awards, including past wins and recognition for her songwriting career.
The event is being produced in partnership with the Academy of Country Music, Prime Video, and Dick Clark Productions.
