Senator Sunday Karimi has raised concerns over the growing incidence of kidnapping and banditry in Kogi State, describing abductions as a daily occurrence in the state. Karimi made the remarks on Wednesday during plenary while contributing to a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Senator Abdulfatai Buhari on the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso. The lawmaker said kidnapping and banditry have become major security challenges threatening the stability of the country, stressing that responsibility for addressing the menace should not rest solely on the Federal Government. According to him, bandits invaded Ayedun Bunu, a community in Kogi West Senatorial District, in the early hours of Monday and abducted 28 residents. He noted that such incidents have become frequent in Kogi State, adding that communities continue to face security threats from criminal elements. SHE WAS FAILED BY THE COURTS AND LEFT TO DIE WHILE HER SMALL CHILDREN WATCHED.(PHOTO).

She was failed by the courts and left to die while her small children watched.

A Wisconsin woman who was denied a restraining order in February, was just k*lled by her estranged husband.

This heartbreaking story met its tragic end on Wednesday, April 1st, when officers with the Kenosha Police Department arrived at the home Makayla Plaza, to perform a welfare check.

When officers knocked on the door of the home at approximately 6:20 a.m., Marckus Plaza answered the door. Marckus is Makayla's estranged husband. However, upon seeing an officer at the door, Marckus quickly slammed the door shut.

This prompted officers to walk around the back of the home, where an officer looked through a basement window and saw Marckus trying to drag Makayla's lifeless body, possibly in an attempt to "hide" her.

Officers then began to force their way into the home, but as they gained entry into the home, Marckus was able to escape. Once inside of the home, officers found Makayla deceased from multiple st*b wounds. Makayla's phone was found near her body, suggesting Makayla attempted to call 911 or at least keep her phone in her possession. Her phone was destroyed. Police also found the couple's young children inside of the home.

Officers reported that one of the young children told them, "Daddy use knife. My dad do it."

This tragic incident is all the more frustrating due to the fact that Makayla had pleaded for a restraining order against Marckus in February but had been denied by the courts.

In her request, Makayla had specifically mentioned she "feared for her safety because Marckus had access to knives". She had asked for Marckus to be removed from her home.

Makayla also told the court that Marckus had stated that she was "stuck in the marriage and that she couldn't leave the relationship".

Makayla explained to the court that Marckus did not allow her leave the home, saying, "he tells me when I can leave the house and where I can go, he makes it extremely hard to leave the house with the children if he is not coming with me".

However, Makayla's pleas sadly fell on deaf ears, and her request was denied. Now Makayla is deceased in the exact manner she had feared.

Marckus Plaza was eventually arrested after a manhunt.

Police received a tip that Marckus was hiding in the basement of a salon. Police evacuated employees and customers from the salon before moving in to make the arrest.

Marckus Plaza is being charged with first-degree intentional homicide. We will update.

Our thoughts with McKayla's friends and family. She will be remembered for the friendly and helpful woman that she was in life.

This is such a heartbreaking story. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Makayla Plaza.
