 PRESS RELEASE FCT POLICE RESCUE SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE OVER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION OF 5 YEAR OLD CHILD. …CP FCT Condemns such acts as it delays the course of justice The FCT Police Command, on the 4th of October 2026 at approximately 02:46PM, received a distress call reporting that an unidentified adult male was being assaulted by an angry mob over an alleged attempt to abduct a child. Following receipt of the report, police operatives from Kuje Division were immediately dispatched to the scene, where one Bashir Usman was rescued from an irate mob that was about to lynch him. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was being assaulted by the mob over allegations that he attempted to abduct a five year old child in front of her residence in Angwan Lado, Kuje Area Council of the FCT.  South-East Ex-Governors Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Re-election, Inaugurate New Advisory Forum


Former governors from Nigeria’s South-East geopolitical zone have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.


The endorsement came on Tuesday after the ex-governors held a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Lodge in Enugu, where they formally launched a new platform called the **South East Forum of Former Governors**.


According to the group, the forum is intended to function as a **non-partisan advisory body** that will offer guidance and support to the region’s serving governors on critical developmental matters and broader national issues.


Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, who is also a former governor of Ebonyi State, addressed journalists after the meeting and read the communique. He disclosed that the ex-governors reached a unanimous decision to back President Tinubu’s re-election, citing the administration’s ongoing infrastructure projects across the South-East and its policy of inclusive appointments as key factors behind their support.
