 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  TRAGEDY AT RICE MILL JUNCTION AS DANGOTE TRUCK CRUSHES MAN TO DEATH IN GBOKO 


A tragic accident has claimed the life of a yet-to-be-identified man after a truck reportedly belonging to Dangote Group crushed him at Rice Mill Junction in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.


Residents say the busy junction is known for heavy traffic and frequent accidents involving trucks and commercial vehicles.


Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred suddenly, leaving bystanders in shock. The victim was reportedly killed on the spot before help could arrive.


Hiifan Zendesha described the situation as chaotic, with passersby gathering shortly after the crash.


“It happened so fast. The man didn’t stand a chance,” an eyewitness said.
