 DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTED CRIMINALS, RECOVER TWO BERETTA PISTOLS, NINE ROUNDS OF LIVE AMMUNITION, SUSPECTED COCAINE, AND MERCEDES-BENZ SUV The Delta State Police Command has recorded another significant operational success with the arrest of two suspected criminals and the recovery of firearms, live ammunition, suspected cocaine, and other incriminating exhibits during a stop-and-search operation carried out by operatives of the Safer Highway Patrol along the Agbarho–Warri Road on 25 July 2026. The suspects, Omini Ezeri (46) and Chinedum Wagbara (42), both residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, were intercepted while travelling in a grey Mercedes-Benz ML SUV with registration number AAA 604 JZ. During preliminary interrogation, a third occupant of the vehicle, God Knows Ifreke, suddenly took to his heels and escaped into a nearby swamp. A 5-YEAR-OLD GIRL WAS FOUND ALIVE INSIDE OF A CRASHED VEHICLE ALONGSIDE TWO DECEASED OCCUPANTS 30 HOURS AFTER THE ACCIDENT. (PHOTO).

 "It was a tragedy and a miracle." 

A 5-year-old girl was found alive inside of a crashed vehicle alongside two deceased occupants 30 hours after the accident. 


New Mexico native 25-year-old, Devonte Griffin, and 24-year-old, Klariza Tarango, were traveling along Highway 160 in Colorado  when disaster struck. An unidentified 5-year-old girl was also in the vehicle. For reasons unknown, at this time, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled an undetermined number of times before coming to a rest, upside down.


Authorities believe the accident occurred around 6 a.m. on May 1st. However, due to the vehicle not being visible from the roadway, it would not be discovered until 12:35 p.m. on May 2nd.


On that day, authorities received a report of a crashed vehicle near mile post 104. When the first responders arrived on the scene, they got the surprise of a lifetime. 


As they assessed the vehicle, they discovered both Klariza and Devante deceased inside of the vehicle, but to the surprise of everyone present, there was a 5-year-old girl still alive inside of the vehicle.


The poor young girl had spent the last 30 hours stuck inside of the vehicle. There is no report on her relationship with the other two occupants at this time.


The young girl was taken to a nearby hospital for the treatment of minor injuries before being released. 


The cause of the crash is under investigation.  Authorities do not believe impairment or high speeds were a factor. 


Our thoughts are with the surviving child along with the family and friends of the victims..
