37-year-old Bobby Atkinson was arraigned on May 22nd on two counts of t*rture of a dog (or cat), two counts of cruelty to animals, one count of menacing and one count of t*rroristic threatening.
These charges stem from a domestic incident involving Atkinson and his wife. According to official reports, Atkinson's wife confronted him after learning he had an affair with another woman.
During the course of the ensuing argument, Atkinson would then use accelerant to light his wife's dogs on fire. Fortunately, both dogs were quickly extinguished and survived the ordeal. They are both being treated at Louisville Metro Animal Services.
Atkinson is also accused of intimidating his wife with a firearm and threatening to take her life.
Bobby Atkinson originally had his bond set at $20,000. However, during his May 22nd arraignment, the judge raised his bond to $50,000
