NCAA CONFIRMS AIRCRAFT INCIDENT IN ASABA; FROWNS AT ITS RE-TAKE OFF WITHOUT PERMITS The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) confirms a private aircraft incident near Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. According to NCAA Director Public Affairs and Consumer Protection Michael Achimugu, the aircraft missed its approach at about 07:43 local time and landed on a roadway in Ogwashi-Uku, near Asaba. NCAA added, all four crew members exited safely with no injuries reported. Preliminary findings show the aircraft later departed the site at approximately 11:02 GMT for Lagos without regulatory approval. Air Traffic Control was notified only after takeoff. This unauthorized departure violates the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) and is under NCAA investigation. On arrival in Lagos, the NCAA grounded the aircraft.
