The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State has completed its primary elections, producing three senatorial candidates for the 2027 general elections.
Announcing the results at a press briefing in Kaduna on Sunday, the Chairman of the ADC Primary Elections Committee, Ladan Salihu, said the party had previously concluded its presidential and governorship primaries.
He added that the latest exercise covered the senatorial, House of Representatives, and selected State House of Assembly primaries.
Salihu stated that the successful conduct of the primaries demonstrated the party’s dedication to internal democracy and a transparent candidate selection process.
He confirmed that all winners emerged in accordance with the party’s guidelines and would represent the ADC in the 2027 general elections.
“For Kaduna North Senatorial District, Returning Officer Ibrahim Sidi Bamalli declared Senator Khalid Ibrahim Mustafa Soba the winner after polling 83,070 votes in an unopposed contest,” Salihu said.
He added that Senator Lawal Adamu Usman secured the ADC ticket for Kaduna Central Senatorial District with 47,488 votes, also running unopposed.
In Kaduna South Senatorial District, Godfrey Ali Gaya emerged victorious with 28,378 votes, defeating Aminchi Abu, who received 5,299 votes, according to Returning Officer Murtala Abubakar.
Salihu expressed optimism that the candidates would strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 elections as political activities continue to gather momentum across Kaduna State.
