 Trump threatens Iran with major strikes and warns of potential control of oil infrastructure as regional conflict escalates  President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States would strike Iran “VERY HARD TONIGHT,” escalating already heightened tensions as both sides continue exchanging attacks across the region. In a social media post, Trump also threatened to “assume total control” of Iran’s oil and gas infrastructure, including the key Kharg Island export terminal, describing potential action “in the not too distant future.” The warning came as U.S. and Iranian forces traded fire for a second straight day, marking the third major escalation in less than a week following earlier clashes involving Iran, Israel, and U.S. forces stationed across multiple countries. APC PRIMARIES: FORMER MINISTER OF POWER ADEBAYO ADELABU CRIES OUT OVER ALLEGED RESULT MANIPULATION IN OYO STATE. (PHOTO)

Former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has raised serious allegations of result manipulation and electoral misconduct during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries in Oyo State.


Adelabu, who is a leading governorship aspirant, made the allegation on Thursday while speaking with journalists after casting his vote at his polling unit.


The former minister, who recently resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet to contest the Oyo State governorship seat, warned that the process was marred by irregularities in several wards.


“I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards,” Adelabu said. 


“Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions. In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”


The development comes as the APC conducts its primaries across Oyo State to select a candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election. Adelabu’s allegation has raised concerns about the transparency and credibility of the exercise in the state. 


As at press time, the Oyo State APC leadership is yet to respond to the claims made by the former minister.
