 Anambra Upgrades 130 Primary Health Centres, Recruits 1,000 Health Workers ‎ ‎ ‎By Ezumezu Nonyelum ‎ ‎ ‎The Anambra State Government says it has upgraded 130 primary health centres across the state as part of efforts to improve access to quality healthcare. Each facility has been equipped with solar power, a reliable electricity supply and a 30 KVA generator to ensure uninterrupted medical services. ‎ ‎The government said the initiative aligns with its policy of providing at least one fully functional primary health centre in every political ward and one general hospital in each of the state's 21 local government areas. ‎ ‎As part of the healthcare expansion, the Soludo administration has constructed five new general hospitals: Okpoko General Hospital in Ogbaru, Solution Specialist Hospital in Fegge, Onitsha, Solution Rehabilitation Centre in Nibo, Ekwulobia General Hospital in Aguata, and Solution General Hospital in Anaku, Anyamelum. ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, TRESPASS AND THEFT IN BAUCHI


The Bauchi State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime following the arrest of a suspected thief by operatives of ‘E’ Division, Yelwa.


On 3rd May, 2026, at about 0916hrs, a patrol team from the Division arrested one Saidu Isah, male, 27 years old, of Almuri in Misau Local Government Area. The suspect was apprehended with three smart television sets, each valued at ₦400,000.


Subsequently, upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having criminally conspired with one Abdul (surname unknown) alias “PA” of Wunti, who is currently at large. The duo, in furtherance of their unlawful act, trespassed into the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission located behind Elim Church, Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi, and carted away the three television sets.


Meanwhile, the case is under active investigation at ‘E’ Division. The suspect will be charged to court accordingly as soon as preliminary investigation is concluded, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.


In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+) reassured the public of the Command's resolve to safeguard lives and property across the State. He therefore urged residents and organizations to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest Police station or through the Command’s Control Room line: 08151849417
