 Man who met his end after entering tiger enclosure is named and pictured The man who was tragically mauled by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park has been named and pictured for the first time. The victim has been identified as William Chapman. Pictures on his social media account show him holding a bible and a crossbow in what appears to be the same clothes he had on when he entered the tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The picture, which was uploaded on the day of the horror demise, shows him holding a crossbow bolt between his teeth. He also posted to Instagram moments before he passed on. The footage showed him filming as he walked slowly towards the 30-stone tiger, named Altai, which was resting on a raised wooden platform. ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, TRESPASS AND THEFT IN BAUCHI


The Bauchi State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime following the arrest of a suspected thief by operatives of ‘E’ Division, Yelwa.


On 3rd May, 2026, at about 0916hrs, a patrol team from the Division arrested one Saidu Isah, male, 27 years old, of Almuri in Misau Local Government Area. The suspect was apprehended with three smart television sets, each valued at ₦400,000.


Subsequently, upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having criminally conspired with one Abdul (surname unknown) alias “PA” of Wunti, who is currently at large. The duo, in furtherance of their unlawful act, trespassed into the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission located behind Elim Church, Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi, and carted away the three television sets.


Meanwhile, the case is under active investigation at ‘E’ Division. The suspect will be charged to court accordingly as soon as preliminary investigation is concluded, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.


In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+) reassured the public of the Command's resolve to safeguard lives and property across the State. He therefore urged residents and organizations to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest Police station or through the Command’s Control Room line: 08151849417
