 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo). ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, TRESPASS AND THEFT IN BAUCHI


The Bauchi State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime following the arrest of a suspected thief by operatives of ‘E’ Division, Yelwa.


On 3rd May, 2026, at about 0916hrs, a patrol team from the Division arrested one Saidu Isah, male, 27 years old, of Almuri in Misau Local Government Area. The suspect was apprehended with three smart television sets, each valued at ₦400,000.


Subsequently, upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having criminally conspired with one Abdul (surname unknown) alias “PA” of Wunti, who is currently at large. The duo, in furtherance of their unlawful act, trespassed into the premises of the National Broadcasting Commission located behind Elim Church, Yelwan Tudu, Bauchi, and carted away the three television sets.


Meanwhile, the case is under active investigation at ‘E’ Division. The suspect will be charged to court accordingly as soon as preliminary investigation is concluded, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplice.


In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+) reassured the public of the Command's resolve to safeguard lives and property across the State. He therefore urged residents and organizations to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest Police station or through the Command’s Control Room line: 08151849417
