Brooke Shields recently reflected on the joy of watching her daughters, Rowan and Grier, grow into independent young women. At the New York premiere of You’re Killing Me on May 7, the 60-year-old actress spoke about the pride she feels seeing her daughters find their own paths.
Shields described it as a “bizarre feeling” to watch them become “their own people,” adding that her pride comes not from her own influence but from their confidence and willingness to try new things. Rowan, 22, even joined her mother at the premiere, helping to interview her for AMC’s social team.
The mother-daughter duo has been making public appearances together, including attending Animal Haven’s Benefit for the Animals in April, where they wore coordinated gowns. Shields stunned in a shimmering black gown, while Rowan opted for a navy lace dress.
Just a day before the premiere, Rowan interviewed her mom for Extra, jokingly calling her a “professional nagger.” Shields playfully corrected her, saying she prefers to think of herself as encouraging. Their lighthearted exchange highlighted the closeness of their relationship.
Shields also shared heartfelt reflections on motherhood, telling Rowan that her life became “fully real” the day she was born. She expressed how being a mother makes her happiest and praised Rowan for the person she has become.
Shields, who shares Rowan and Grier with husband Chris Henchy, continues to balance her career with family life, cherishing the opportunity to celebrate her daughters’ growth and success both privately and publicly.
