Carmen Electra recently opened up about why she ended her marriage to Dennis Rodman, admitting she felt like she was losing herself in the relationship.
Speaking on the Legally Goff podcast, the actress recalled the constant partying and drinking that left her exhausted and unrecognizable to herself.
In her 20s at the time, she said she realized she had to walk away, even though the love between them was real.
Electra described moments after their breakup when Rodman showed a softer side, crying and wanting her back. She explained that she returned most of the gifts he gave her, though she kept a few sentimental items.
To fully separate from him, she eventually had to move and change her phone number, as Rodman would show up at her home and refuse to leave, sometimes threatening to cause public scenes.
The pair first met in 1998 and married in Las Vegas that November, but their union quickly unraveled. Just nine days later, Rodman filed for annulment.
Although they briefly reconciled, their divorce was finalized in April 1999.
Electra said that while their relationship was rooted in genuine love, it ultimately had to end for her own well-being.
