 Nigerian makes US Most Wanted List over $1m fraud A Nigerian, Onoriode Ezewu, has been named on the United States Department of Labour’s first-ever Most Wanted List over allegations of money laundering involving fraudulent unemployment benefit claims worth more than $1m. The department’s Office of Inspector General unveiled the list on its website on Wednesday, naming 16 fugitives wanted in cases involving alleged fraud, identity theft, money laundering, labour trafficking and other offences. According to the agency, the cases collectively involve more than $55m allegedly stolen from American taxpayers.  Emeka Kalu Withdraws from Abia North Senatorial Race


A prominent Labour Party (LP) chieftain in Abia State, Dr. Emeka Kalu, has withdrawn from the Abia North Senatorial District race.


Dr. Kalu announced his decision on Wednesday, stating that the move was designed to foster unity within the Labour Party and strengthen support for the administration of Governor Alex Otti ahead of future elections.


In a statement issued to party stakeholders and supporters, Kalu explained that his withdrawal came after wide consultations and a careful assessment of the prevailing political situation in the party.


He emphasized that the decision was taken in the overall interest of the party’s cohesion and success in Abia State.
