The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has sworn in 18 newly appointed Commissioners and urged them to focus on service, values, and expertise to foster the state's growth.
"You have significant value to add to Ndi Anambra. You are champions, so act and think like champions to elevate Anambra to greater heights. Out of the 8.5 million Ndi Anambra, you are called to serve, and you must not fail them.
The governor made this remark during the inauguration at the ANSEC Chambers in the Light House on May 18, 2026.
The Commissioners sworn in are: Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena (Agriculture); Mr. Chukwukadibia, FCCA (Budget and Economic Planning); Mr. Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment, and Tourism); Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education); Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment); Dr. Afam Obidike (Health); Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation); Prof. Offornze Amucheazi SAN (Lands); Barr. Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs).
Others include: Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources); Barr. Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development); Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu (Power); Arc. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure); Hon. Eddy Ibuzo (Transport); Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development); Mr. Patrick Agha, MBA (Youth Development and Sports); Henry Arinze (Housing); and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu (Commerce).
Governor Soludo welcomed the appointees to Solution Team 2.0, gear four, with a clear agenda and deadline. He emphasised the importance of taking the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance seriously, as it reminds them of their commitments. "Reread the oath you have taken today because it is not just a ceremony but a very serious matter".
He outlined five pillar agendas: Environmental Sustainability; Security, Law and Order; Governance and New Value System; Human Capital and Social Development; and Infrastructure and Economic Transformation, which will be pursued simultaneously. " We have big things ahead, and as a team, we must move swiftly," he said.
The governor also announced that Anambra aims to become a megacity, with projects like Airotropolis, New Niger, Awka 2. 2.0, and an Industrial City under construction. "We are building four cities simultaneously to turn Anambra into a major commercial hub."
