Gov. Uba Sani Appoints Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar As Emir Of Kagarko

Governor Uba Sani has approved the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Sa’ad Abubakar as the new Emir of Kagarko.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Commissioner for Local Government, Alhaji Sadiq Mamman Lagos, said the appointment takes immediate effect.

The statement disclosed that the new Emir, who previously held the title of San Turakin Kagarko, emerged after a rigorous selection process.

According to the commissioner, contestants were screened by the kingmakers of the Kagarko Emirate Council, with Suleiman eventually selected for the throne.

The statement recalled that the appointment followed the passing of the late 2nd Class Emir of Kagarko, His Royal Highness Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, who died on January 8, 2026, after ruling the emirate for six years.

It added that Governor Uba Sani congratulated the new Emir on ascending the throne of his forefathers.

The commissioner further disclosed that arrangements for the formal installation ceremony and presentation of the staff of office to the new Emir would be announced in due course.

“The Governor also charged the new Emir to continue promoting peace and harmony within his communities,” the commissioner added.
