 HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES MOVES TO STRENGTHEN POLICING WITH POLICE TRUST FUND BILL


The House of Representatives has adopted the report of its Committee on Police Affairs on the Nigerian Police Trust Fund (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Bill, 2026, marking a key legislative step toward enhancing security architecture in Nigeria.


The proposed law aims to reform the 2019 framework by boosting sustainable funding, modernising training systems, and improving the welfare and operational capacity of officers in the Nigerian Police.
