The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dahiru Liman, alongside the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Magaji Henry Danjuma, and the Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, have secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) tickets for their constituencies through consensus affirmation exercises conducted across Kaduna State.
Rt. Hon. Dahiru Liman was unanimously affirmed as the APC candidate for Makera State Constituency during the party’s primary exercise attended by party officials, electoral officers, and supporters.
Announcing the outcome, the Returning Officer, Engr. Ezekiel Samuel Gode, stated that Liman emerged unopposed after being adopted as the sole consensus candidate for the constituency.
“Having received the affirmation results from the five voting areas and with no other aspirant in the race, I hereby declare Rt. Hon. Dahiru Liman as the duly affirmed candidate for Makera State Constituency,” he said.
In the same vein, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr. Magaji Henry Danjuma, emerged as the APC candidate for Kagarko State Constituency following a peaceful affirmation exercise across the wards.
The APC Returning Officer, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Apo Jere, officially declared Danjuma winner at the local government collation centre after the exercise.
Also, the Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, secured the APC ticket for Lere East Constituency after a smooth affirmation process conducted in the constituency’s six wards.
Returning Officer for Lere East, Hon. Aminu Yaro, confirmed her emergence as the party’s candidate during the exercise held in Saminaka.
Meanwhile, in a move seen as a boost for party cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, several APC aspirants for Kaduna State House of Assembly seats voluntarily withdrew from the race and endorsed the party’s consensus candidates.
Speaking on behalf of the aspirants in Kaduna, Dr. Abdulrazaq Shuibu Labbo, an aspirant for Kaka/Gogi constituency in Birnin Gwari, said the decision followed consultations and interventions led by Governor Uba Sani to strengthen unity within the party.
“We stand firmly with the progressive leadership of Governor Senator Uba Sani and reaffirm our commitment to his re-election bid and the continued success of the APC in Kaduna State and across Nigeria,” he stated.
Among those who stepped down were Dr. Abdulrazaq Shuibu Labbo (Kaka/Gogi, Birnin Gwari), Mustapha Adam (Giwa West), Deborah Musa (Lere West), Isah Nasidi (Doka/Gabasawa), and Kabiru Bale Ahmed (Kawo).
