Kaduna businessman drags ex fiancee’s father to court, demands dowry refund A businessman, Nasiru Dayyabu, on Wednesday, dragged the father of his ex-fiance, Mallam Sani Direba, to Shari’a Court II sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna over N260,000 dowry. The complainant had joined Direba in the suit against two brothers demanding a refund of N250, 000 dowry and N10,000 introduction money he paid to marry his daughter. Represented by his counsel, Mr Sani Sunusi, the complainant told the court that he sent his people from Karaye, Kano State to Kaduna in 2025, to seek for the defendant’s daughter’s hand in marriage. “We paid the dowry and the introduction money (kudin gausuwa) and were waiting for them to set a date for the wedding,” he said. “Unfortunately, the lady’s father called to inform us that they have cancelled the marriage.” The counsel said the complainant had asked for the refund of his money since Sept. 2025 but all the efforts he made proved abortive.  LAGOS RENDERS ACCOUNT OF STEWARDSHIP: Y2026 MINISTERIAL PRESS BRIEFING COMMENCES MONDAY 11TH MAY 2026


Lagos State Executive Council members are set to render accounts of stewardship of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Obafemi Hamzat  administration in the last one year. 

The Ministry of Information and Strategy is organizing a month-long Ministerial Press Briefing commencing on Monday, 11th  of May , 2026.


The  annual event provides an important platform for Ministries, Departments and Agencies to present to the good people of Lagos State in “Facts and Figures” the achievements of the present administration across various developmental pillars of the THEMES+ Agenda. It is an  opportunity to engage with Lagosians on the bold efforts at improving the welfare of all.  


This  year’s edition is particularly significant as it precedes the general elections. The exercise will enable the public to assess the performance of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu/Obafemi Hamzat administration, appreciate the milestones recorded and get an insight into the plans for a Greater Lagos. 


Besides, the media engagement will further help the citizens to understand the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability and inclusive governance.

The achievements of the administration remain a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership and responsible governance. 


All sessions will be live streamed on all  state social media handles.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
