The intelligence and the sagacity of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, in his reappointment of Mefor as the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation in Anambra State has continued to attract positive reactions from Ndi Anambra, who view the development as a reaffirmation of professionalism, intellectual depth, and strategic communication in governance.
Law Mefor PhD, served in the ministry from September 2024 uptil March 17, 2026, was recently screened by the Anambra State House of Assembly following his renomination by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo. His screening and expected confirmation have been widely interpreted as a vote of confidence in his performance during his first tenure in office.
An academic, media consultant, public affairs analyst, and author, he brought intellectual capacity and administrative experience to bear in the Ministry of Information and Value Reformation.
His appointment in 2024 signaled a new phase in government communication aimed at strengthening public engagement, ethical information management, and civic enlightenment.
His presence, within the last two years, witnessed improved visibility of government programmes and policies through coordinated media strategies and enhanced public communications. As such, information dissemination on infrastructure development,
healthcare reforms, education initiatives, and security interventions became more structured and consistent under his leadership.
One of the defining features of Mefor’s stewardship was his commitment to capacity building within the ministry. Between September 2025 and February 2026, within a period of less than five months, he organized two workshops — internal and external — for Information Officers in the ministry. The training programmes were aimed at improving professional competence, communication skills, media engagement, and effective information management among officers.
The workshops were widely seen as part of efforts to reposition the ministry for greater efficiency and professionalism. Participants reportedly benefited from practical sessions on modern communication strategies, ethical reporting, public relations, and the use of digital platforms in information dissemination.
Another major feature of his administration stem from his emphasis on value reformation. At a time when society faces challenges relating to misinformation, moral decline, and civic disengagement, the ministry intensified campaigns promoting responsible citizenship, ethical conduct, and community participation in governance.
Observers also note that his approach to information management reflected professionalism and openness. Through collaboration with media practitioners and communication stakeholders, the ministry strengthened its relationship with journalists and public communicators while encouraging responsible reportage and factual dissemination of information.
Underlining his high official capacity, he has a deep fatherly disposition towards the ministry's staff.
His screening before the Anambra State House of Assembly further highlighted his readiness to continue contributing to Soludo administration’s vision of a livable and prosperous homeland. Lawmakers reportedly engaged him on issues relating to information dissemination, public orientation, and strategies for projecting government activities effectively to the people.
Many believe that his return will ensure continuity in the government’s communication framework, especially at a period when effective public engagement remains crucial to governance and development.
The Ministry of Information and Value Reformation occupies a strategic position in shaping public perception, promoting government policies, and sustaining trust between government and citizens.
For Ndi Anambra, the reappointment of Dr. Law Mefor goes beyond politics. It represents the recognition of competence, intellectualism, and effective service delivery in public office. His return is therefore seen as an opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms in information management and deepen public awareness of government programmes.
As Anambra continues its developmental journey, effective communication and value reformation remain essential tools for mobilizing citizens towards collective progress. In this regard, the continued presence of Law Mefor in the information ministry will further strengthen the bridge between governance and the people.
