 Beloved actor Ras Ajai, 47, 'shot dead' while walking down a street A beloved film star and musician has di£d. Ras Ajai, whose real name was Brian Todd Boucher, played JLP political enforcer Claudie Massop in the 2024 film Bob Marley: One Love biopic. He was reportedly shot in Waterford, St. Catherine, Jamaica, at the age of 47. He rubbed shoulders with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they arrived at the movie's Jamaican premiere. Another person is reported to have sustained injuries during the assault, which remains under investigation by St Catherine South Police. Sources say the reggae and dancehall artist, vocalist and composer was walking down a street with a companion on Saturday, August 1, when they were attacked by armed criminals travelling in a vehicle. One of the attackers allegedly exited the car and unleashed gunfire on the duo and Ras was shot several times before they fled in the motor.  Nollywood Actor Alex Ekubo Dies at 40


Popular Nigerian actor Alex Ekubo has died at the age of 40.


The actor’s passing was confirmed on Tuesday by his colleagues Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, and Godwin Nnadiekwe, who described themselves as close allies of the deceased.


Taking to her Instagram Story, Funke Akindele expressed deep sorrow, writing: “Hmmmmmm. Rest in peace, Alex. I tried to reach out to see you one more time but guess you knew best. May your kind soul rest in peace, Alex. ‘Ore mi’ like you fondly called me, I will always remember and cherish the good times we shared together. Rest in Peace, Alex.”


Bolanle Ninalowo, who is currently in the United States, also paid tribute on his page: “Rest on, Alex. May God heal your family and us all.”


Godwin Nnadiekwe shared an emotional message, saying: “I’m struggling to find the words. This news has truly broken me. Nollywood has lost a rare soul, and I’m lost for words because this wasn’t the plan, Alex Ekubo. To think you already prepared your Will — It’s heartbroken, I can’t quite describe. Rest well, my friend.”


As of the time of this report, the Ekubo family has not released an official statement regarding the actor’s death.


Further details surrounding the circumstances of his passing are yet to be made public.
