Ebola testing suspended in three Congo labs following supply shortages- WHO Three laboratories in Democratic Republic of Congo have run out of supplies to test for Ebola, the World Health Organization said, as the outbreak of the dangerous Bundibugyo species of the virus continues to grow. The agency said laboratories in Bukavu and Lwiro in South Kivu province, and Goma in North Kivu, had run out of stock. It said that the labs were awaiting the arrival of reagents - substances required to run the tests - to resume work on backlogged samples. There have been almost 600 confirmed cases in the Ebola outbreak and more than 115 deaths, the Congolese government announced on Tuesday evening. There have also been 19 cases and two deaths in neighbouring Uganda linked to the epidemic, which the WHO has declared an international public health emergency. The outbreak continues to spread and has now affected 25 health zones in the provinces of Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu.

Phil Collins makes rare Buckingham Palace appearance amid ongoing health struggles

Phil Collins made a rare public appearance at Buckingham Palace this week, attending a 50th anniversary celebration for King Charles III’s charitable organization focused on supporting young people.

The Genesis frontman and solo music icon, who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for both his band and individual work, has long been connected to the charity, serving as its first ambassador four decades ago. His appearance comes months after he publicly discussed ongoing health challenges.

Collins attended the event alongside his ex-wife Jill Collins, who shared a photo on social media showing the pair with singer Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster. In her post, she described the gathering as an honor and noted that despite heavy rain, the celebration continued as guests spent time with King Charles, who she said appeared pleased to see Collins given his long history with the organization.

She also revealed that they are planning a charity auction in November to benefit the organization, featuring hundreds of personal items from their archives. According to her, Collins has also designed a T-shirt that will be sold to raise additional funds.

Earlier this year, Collins spoke publicly about his health in an interview, revealing that he now relies on a live-in nurse providing 24-hour care to manage his condition and medications. He described a series of medical setbacks in recent years, including multiple knee surgeries, complications following hospitalization, and kidney issues.

He also said he has undergone five knee operations and now has only one knee that functions properly, noting that he is able to walk only with assistance such as crutches.
