Rapper Kodak Black arrested on MDMA trafficking charge tied to 2025 Orlando police search, report says

Rapper Kodak Black was arrested Wednesday in Florida on an allegation of trafficking MDMA tied to a 2025 incident in Orlando, according to law enforcement officials.

The 28-year-old artist, born Bill Kapri, was scheduled to appear in court Thursday afternoon on the drug trafficking charge stemming from a police search conducted on Nov. 24, 2025, in Orlando.

Authorities said officers responded to a 911 call reporting possible gunfire and searched vehicles in the area. During the investigation, Kapri reportedly approached officers as they conducted the search.

According to a report, investigators found a bag in a vehicle trunk containing 56 grams of cannabis packaged in sealed, labeled bags, along with a metal container holding a pink pill substance. A sheriff’s deputy later stated that a pill found during the search tested positive for MDMA.

Officials also reported discovering a separate bag containing Kapri’s identification, cash, and a bottle of promethazine hydrochloride.

The report referenced an image from Kodak Black’s social media account showing pink scissors and a pink bag, which investigators alleged matched items recovered during the search and contained the suspected contraband.

Authorities said everyone present at the scene denied ownership of the bag and its contents, including Kapri. However, the report stated that when he was informed of money found inside, he repeatedly asked for it to be returned, saying it belonged to his business, while not claiming ownership of the bag itself.

Kapri’s attorney has not publicly responded to the allegations.
