 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  Shehu Sani Wins APC Kaduna Central Senatorial Ticket 


Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District.


Sani defeated former Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani and another aspirant, Shettima, during the APC senatorial primary held on Monday.


Announcing the results, Returning Officer Sameera Ibrahim disclosed that Sani secured 9,105 votes to clinch the APC ticket for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District.


According to the results announced, Zailani polled 1,021 votes, while Shettima recorded 1,253 votes.


Ibrahim described the primary election as peaceful, transparent, and well organised, praising party delegates and officials for maintaining order throughout the exercise.


Sani’s victory is being viewed as a major political comeback, having previously represented Kaduna Central in the National Assembly. 


He is also widely recognised for his activism and outspoken positions on governance, democracy, and social justice issues.
