One thing I’ve noticed since I came to Nigeria… some of the people we call “rich” in Cameroon might actually be considered poor here in Nigeria. πŸ˜‚πŸ‡¨πŸ‡²πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ You will hear some Cameroonians say: Life in Cameroon is better because the gap between the rich and poor is not too much. An average man lives better than an average man in Nigeria  But I think the problem is that we sometimes measure wealth differently. πŸ˜‚ Those rich people in Cameroon are more like the average man in Nigeria  In Nigeria, you can see somebody with a house, two cars and serious money, yet the person will still say: Me?  Texas high school track coach in intensive care after being struck by shot put during meet

A Texas high school track coach is recovering in intensive care after a shot put struck him in the head during a weekend meet, an incident his family has described as a “freak accident.”

Blake Crutsinger, an assistant coach with Ponder Independent School District, suffered a skull fracture and brain swelling after being hit Saturday during a regional track and field event held under University Interscholastic League competition.

His wife said Crutsinger has remained in intensive care as doctors monitor swelling in his brain and gradually reduce sedation in an effort to help him breathe on his own. She added that recent updates show signs of improvement, including reduced swelling around his face and eye.

She also asked the public to keep the student-athlete involved in the accident in their thoughts, noting that the incident has been emotionally difficult for those who witnessed it. In a social media post, she said coaches, athletes, trainers, and others at the meet responded quickly, crediting their actions as critical in his early care and prognosis.

School officials said the community has rallied around Crutsinger and his family as he continues his recovery, expressing ongoing support as he remains hospitalized.
