 TROOPS OF OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA ARREST TERRORIST KINGPIN, INTERCEPT AMMUNITION COURIER, OTHERS IN KADUNA STATE Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY) arrested a suspected terrorists, intercepted ammunition courier and apprehended a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations in Kaduna State. In the early hours of 9 September 2026, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known hideout of terrorists in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State. During the operation, troops arrested the terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate at their hideout. The arrested suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.  Virginia deputy killed, another injured in welfare check shooting as manhunt underway for suspect


 A manhunt is underway in Virginia after a sheriff’s deputy was killed and another was injured during a welfare check Friday night in Carroll County. Deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Fancy Gap Highway shortly before 9:30 p.m. after a family member requested a welfare check. Investigators said the deputies encountered a man identified as Michael Puckett, who allegedly opened fire on them, prompting return fire from the deputies.

The deputy killed was identified as Logan Utt, a military veteran who joined the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in 2023. A second deputy was struck while wearing a ballistic vest and was later reported in stable condition after medical evaluation. Authorities said Puckett fled the scene and remained at large as of Saturday afternoon, with multiple agencies assisting in the search, including nearby county and municipal police departments. Law enforcement officials warned that he should be considered armed and extremely dangerous, urging the public not to approach him and to call 911 with any information.

Officials described Utt as a devoted husband and father who had fulfilled a lifelong dream of serving as a deputy. Local leaders and law enforcement expressed condolences, calling the incident a devastating loss for the department and the community. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional details will be released as they become available.
