 EFCC Arraigns One for  N700m Fraud in Lagos  The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September 4, 2026, arraigned Osaretin Osagiede before Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja,  over an alleged N700 million fraud. Osagiede is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on unauthorised access to computer material and receiving stolen property to the tune of N700 million.  Count one reads: “That you Osaretin Osagiede and Zacharia Lorshe (at large), between March, 2025 and January 2026, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, intentionally caused the Ravenpay user accounts' two-factor authentication (2FA) method to be bypassed, with the intent to secure unauthorised access to the bank's data and committed an offence contrary to Section 387 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. ABIA STATE POLICE COMMAND APPREHENDS SUSPECTS FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM: RECOVERS EXHIBITS


*SUSPECTS*

1.David Emmanuel Male, 33 years

2. Joel Emeka Male, 25 years


*EXHIBITS RECOVERED*

1. One (1) locally made pistol

2. One (1) live ammunition

3. Live cartridges

4. One (1) small black bag

5. One (1) auto rickshaw


*FACTS OF THE CASE*

1. On 12/06/2026, operatives of the Nediegoro Divisional Police Headquarters, while on stop-and-search duty along Azikiwe by Kent Road, Aba, intercepted an auto rickshaw.


2. During the operation, one of the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene, while the other two suspects were immediately apprehended. A search conducted on them led to the recovery of the above-listed exhibits. The suspects are in police custody and investigation is currently ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and will be charged to court on completion of Investigation.
