 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  Akon Says Many Famous Musicians Are Secretly Broke


Akon has opened up about the financial realities of the music industry, stating that many artists are not as wealthy as people often believe.


According to the singer, the glamorous lifestyles and luxury frequently displayed by musicians on social media and in music videos can be misleading, as a lot of artists are not financially secure.


Speaking during an interview with Hip Hop Eye, Akon explained that although the music business generates huge revenue, those working behind the scenes often earn more than the performers themselves.


He noted that executives and professionals in other sectors of the industry usually make more money than the artists who are in the spotlight.


“In the music industry, the artist is the last to get paid. He is the broke one but he is the most famous. If you want to be broke and famous, be the artist.


“But if you want to make real money go to other sectors of music business, like the producer, songwriter, manager, agent and attorney. There are so many areas in the entertainment field that you can really maximise,” he said.
