 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  ANAMBRA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL INSPECTS NEW HIGH COURT COMPLEX: EXPRESSES SATISFACTION

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Anambra State, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, on  Monday, June 1st, 2026, conducted an inspection visit to the state's new High Court building,Complex currently under construction behind the Judiciary Headquarters off Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.


Nweke led the team of Commissioners that accompanied him to the inspection which are Arch. Henry Arinze, Commissioner for Housing, with Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, Commissioner for Physical and Urban Development.


Attorney General toured the facility and expressed strong satisfaction with the progress and quality of work on the project.


Speaking during the inspection, Nweke described the structure as solid and befitting of a modern judicial institution. "This building portrays a true high court of the 21st century," he said, noting that the complex features ultra-modern courtrooms, judges' chambers, and a range of conference and administrative facilities.


The Commissioner expressed his joy over the building complex and described it as a landmark investment in the state's judicial infrastructure, saying the project reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the justice system in Anambra State.


The new High Court complex is expected to significantly enhance the capacity and efficiency of the state judiciary upon completion.
