 TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RECOVER AK-47 RIFLE ALONG BENIN–SAPELE ROAD Troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Operation WABAIZIGAN, have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition during a targeted operation along the Benin–Sapele Road in Ikpoba-Okha LGA of Edo State. The suspect, identified as Olamide Oyeniyi, was arrested on 12 September 2026 at Obaretin Community by troops conducting operations to disrupt criminal activities and safeguard major transportation routes within the area. Items recovered from the suspect include one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition. Other items recovered are one Tecno mobile phone, two bags, one torchlight, one music box and assorted charms.  ANAMBRA STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL INSPECTS NEW HIGH COURT COMPLEX: EXPRESSES SATISFACTION

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Anambra State, Tobechukwu Nweke, SAN, on  Monday, June 1st, 2026, conducted an inspection visit to the state's new High Court building,Complex currently under construction behind the Judiciary Headquarters off Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.


Nweke led the team of Commissioners that accompanied him to the inspection which are Arch. Henry Arinze, Commissioner for Housing, with Barrister Chijioke Ojukwu, Commissioner for Physical and Urban Development.


Attorney General toured the facility and expressed strong satisfaction with the progress and quality of work on the project.


Speaking during the inspection, Nweke described the structure as solid and befitting of a modern judicial institution. "This building portrays a true high court of the 21st century," he said, noting that the complex features ultra-modern courtrooms, judges' chambers, and a range of conference and administrative facilities.


The Commissioner expressed his joy over the building complex and described it as a landmark investment in the state's judicial infrastructure, saying the project reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the justice system in Anambra State.


The new High Court complex is expected to significantly enhance the capacity and efficiency of the state judiciary upon completion.
