 ‎Anambra Introduces Mandatory Tax Compliance Requirements for Companies Seeking Government Payments ‎ ‎By Maureen Ugwukah ‎ ‎The Anambra State Government has introduced stricter measures aimed at ensuring tax compliance among companies conducting business with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state. ‎ ‎In a directive issued on June 23, the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor, announced that all MDAs must, with effect from June 29, attach specific tax compliance documents to every request for a payment warrant in favour of any company. ‎ ‎According to the directive, MDAs are required to submit a valid and current Tax Clearance Certificate (TCC) of the beneficiary company, valid Tax Clearance Certificates of at least two directors of the company, and evidence of remittance of staff Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) tax issued by the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS). ‎ ‎The Ministry of Finance warned that requests submitted without the required document...

 ANAMBRA STATE POLICE COMMAND CLARIFIES FALSE SECURITY ALERT OF ALLEGED MILITARY HELICOPTER DROPPING UNKNOWN ITEMS IN A BUSH BETWEEN NIMO AND ADAZI-NNUKWU


Reveals the current state of the alleged area


The Anambra State Police Command wishes to clarify the false security alert circulating on social media alleging that a military helicopter dropped unknown items in a bush located at the boundary between Nimo and Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area of the State.


Following the report, the Command immediately deployed operatives to the area for verification and assessment. So far, findings revealed that the alleged location remains calm, with no suspicious objects or any security concerns observed. Normal activities continue within and around the area, while security operatives maintain routine surveillance to ensure public safety and sustain public confidence.


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, has urged members of the public to disregard the false alarm and desist from spreading unverified information capable of causing panic and undermining public confidence in the security architecture of the State.


The CP reiterated the Command’s commitment to proactive policing, intelligence-led operations, and effective collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders in maintaining peace and security across Anambra State. He further encouraged residents to verify security-related information through official channels and report suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station or other security formations.
