There Are So Many People Around The President With A Rosy Picture Of What The Country Is — Onaiyekan I was not surprised the president wasn’t looking very happy, even his colleagues present. We knew this is different from what our president keeps receiving from people, and that is one of the things that worry us. We have the obligation to help him to appreciate the reality of the situation in which we have found ourselves.  John Cardinal Onaiyekan Archbishop Emeritus, Catholic Diocese of Abuja

Angel Reese becomes fastest player in WNBA history to reach 1,000 career rebounds

Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese hit a major milestone on Saturday, becoming the fastest player in WNBA history to record 1,000 career rebounds. Reese reached the historic mark in only 79 games, eclipsing the previous record of 89 games set by former league standout Tina Charles.

The record-breaking moment occurred with 4:29 left in the third quarter of Atlanta's 113-96 dominant win over the Indiana Fever. Reese contributed 18 points and eight rebounds to the victory, extending Atlanta's winning streak to three games.

The 6-foot-4 forward currently leads the WNBA with an average of 11.9 rebounds per game. Following the matchup, Reese noted that securing offensive boards requires immense effort and constant crashing in the paint to generate second-chance points, emphasizing that rebounding is far more challenging than it appears.

Reese also addressed ongoing criticism from skeptics who claim her rebounding statistics are inflated by tracking her own missed shots. She dismissed that narrative, pointing out that her aggressive rebounding on both her own and her teammates' field goal attempts creates extra possessions and scoring opportunities, proving her nightly consistency on the floor.

Now playing her first season with Atlanta, Reese expressed the importance of recognizing her personal growth and early career success while maintaining a high standard for her future performance.

Atlanta's victory was propelled by a balanced offensive attack, with Rhyne Howard scoring 24 points and Allisha Gray contributing 22 points. Caitlin Clark paced the Indiana Fever with a team-high 26 points in a highly anticipated matchup that drew a sold-out crowd of 17,044 fans to State Farm Arena.
