Alicia Keys reveals why she told her dad to stay away Some childhood wounds linger until they are finally confronted, and for Alicia Keys, that reckoning came long before fame. In her documentary Girl From Hell’s Kitchen, the Grammy winner revisits the pain of growing up without her father, Craig Cook.  She recalls the heartbreak of broken promises and missed visits, which eventually led her, at just 13 years old, to write a letter cutting him out of her life.  Raised by her mother, Terria Joseph, in Manhattan, Keys grew up watching her mother sacrifice her own dreams to provide piano lessons and stability, while her father drifted in and out of her world. ARIANA GRANDE SPOTTED HAVING LUNCH WITH EX BOYFRIEND RICKY ALVAREZ IN TEXAS. (PHOTO).

Ariana Grande spotted having lunch with ex boyfriend Ricky Alvarez in Texas

Ariana Grande was seen having lunch with her former boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez, in Austin, Texas, ahead of her Eternal Sunshine Tour performance on Friday, June 26.

According to PEOPLE, a source said, "They've been hanging out recently." A representative for Grande declined to comment.

The sighting comes after PEOPLE confirmed in June 2026 that Grande and her Wicked co star Ethan Slater had ended their relationship earlier this year.

Grande and Alvarez dated from 2015 until July 2016 and have remained friends since their breakup.

During their relationship, Grande told Billboard in 2016, "We're happy. I'm a very happy girl. I have a healthy life right now, and I think that's all anyone cares to know."

Following their split, Alvarez responded humorously after Grande mentioned him in her 2018 song Thank U, Next. He later wrote, "Nothing but gratitude. Thank you, next… those songs are fire tho… you're welcome."

Grande reshared his posts at the time and replied, "I'm sorry you got the worst line. It was meant very lovingly."

The exchange led to speculation about a possible reunion in 2018, but Grande clarified their relationship by commenting, "We're friends everyone take a big ol breather."

During recent performances of Thank U, Next, Grande has also updated the lyric about Alvarez, including, "Wrote some songs about Ricky, I know he's still got my back," and, at another show, "Wrote some songs about Ricky, now they still kinda slap."
