IGP bars officers from unauthorized use of TikTok, Facebook, and other platforms, threatens suspension and salary forfeiture for defaulters The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has barred serving officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force from engaging in unauthorised social media activities, including creating videos, live streaming, posting skits, and monetising content on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other similar platforms while identifying themselves as police officers.  In a circular dated June 22 and signed by his Principal Staff Officer, the police boss warned that any officer found violating the directive must face severe disciplinary measures, including immediate suspension from duties, forfeiture of salary, demotion, dismissal from the Force, and possible criminal prosecution.  According to the document, the IGP expressed concern over the growing and most disturbing trend of police personnel creating social media con...

BAUCHI POLICE ARREST 3 SUSPECTS OVER CULPABLE HOMICIDE, ROBBERY IN ALKALERI LGA; MOTORCYCLE RECOVERED


Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with a case of culpable homicide and suspected armed robbery in Gwaram Town, Alkaleri Local Government Area.


Acting covertly on the report made at Alkaleri Division on 7th March, 2026, one of the suspects, Alhaji Muhammad Umar alias “Jijji”, 25-years-old, was arrested on 19th June, 2026

while in possession of a motorcycle belonging to a deceased victim.


Subsequently, during interrogation, “Jijji” mentioned two other accomplices in connection with the crime. In a swift follow-up operation, detectives also arrested: 

1. Usman M. Gidado, 45-year-old, and 

2. Danladi Yakubu alias “Pagaj”, 35-years-old, all of Gwaram Town, Alkaleri LGA where the offence committed.


Furthermore, the motorcycle belonging to the deceased was recovered as an exhibit during the operation.


Consequently, all three suspects and the recovered exhibit  have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID) Bauchi for discreet and thorough investigation, after which they will be charged to court.


The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), commended the operatives for their diligence and reassured residents that the Command remains resolute in its commitment to fighting violent crime and ensuring justice for victims at all times.
