BAUCHI POLICE DETECTIVES RECOVER ~N~ 1.5M STOLEN COW, ARREST 1 SUSPECT FOR CONSPIRACY AND THEFT IN 24 HOURS
Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested one suspect and recovered a cow valued at N1,500,000 following a report of house trespass and theft in Gadau District.
The report was received at Gadau Division on 12th June 2026 at about 1730 hours, from a 50-year-old male complainant who resides in Mai Yashi Village, Gadau District. He reported that unknown hoodlums had trespassed into his house and stolen one cow valued at One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira only ( ~N~ 1,500,000.00).
Upon receipt of the report, the operatives attached to Gadau Division immediately visited the scene and commenced covert intelligence gathering. Consequently, on 13th June, 2026 at about 1300 hours, one Moh’d Dingi, 22-year-old, male, of Turu Village, Itas/Gadau LGA, was arrested in connection with the crime. The stolen cow was immediately also recovered as exhibit.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned his accomplice, who is now at large.
The suspect is currently in custody while discreet investigation has been initiated. Concerted efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect, after which both will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), has commended the detectives for their swift response and professionalism. He reiterated the Command’s resolve to rid the state of criminal elements.
Members of the public were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements around livestock and property to the nearest police formation.
