Chrissy Teigen is mourning the loss of her father, Ron Teigen Sr., who passed away on June 10. The model and cookbook author shared a heartfelt Instagram post announcing his death, writing, “Yesterday I woke up with a daddy and went to bed without one.” 

Days later, she posted a photo from the funeral preparations, showing herself seated beside her father’s flower-covered coffin, supported by her husband John Legend and their daughter Luna.

In her tribute, Teigen reflected on the suddenness of the loss, admitting she thought she was prepared because her father had always been an “old dad,” but was devastated by the reality. She included a video of him joking about salmon, explaining it symbolized his life in the Pacific Northwest and his humor. 

Her message concluded with a direct note to her father: “God, I love you so much.

 I will talk to you every night. Thank you for being such a great dad.” Legend also honored “Papa Ron,” praising his joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

Ron Teigen Sr. had occasionally made headlines, most memorably in 2018 when he got a tattoo of Chrissy’s face on his arm for her birthday. 

He later divorced her mother, Vilailuck “Pepper” Teigen, in 2019. Despite his private life, his bond with Chrissy was deeply cherished, and his passing has left a profound mark on the family.
