Speaking to Variety, the 51-year-old actress said she feels like she is slowly returning to herself again while discussing her new film Couture, which explores illness and identity in a way that closely mirrors parts of her own journey. “I think my fighting spirit is finally back,” Jolie said. “I lost it for a bit. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Thursday, 18 June 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, CFR, at his palace in Zaria, Kaduna State. The visit highlights the commitment of the Nigerian Army to deepening collaboration with traditional institutions as critical stakeholders in promoting national security, community resilience and intelligence-driven operations.


The engagement provided an opportunity for the COAS to appreciate the Emirate’s sustained support to military operations and to reinforce the importance of civil-military cooperation in addressing contemporary security challenges. The visit further reflects the Nigerian Army’s recognition of the vital role of traditional rulers in fostering unity, strengthening community trust and mobilising collective action against terrorism, banditry and other emerging threats to national peace and stability.
