 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse.  Corey Feldman hospitalized after mid-flight medical emergency at LAX 

Actor Corey Feldman was hospitalized after experiencing a medical emergency during a flight and being taken directly from Los Angeles International Airport to a hospital, according to his publicist.

The 54-year-old actor reportedly became ill while traveling from Chicago to Los Angeles on Monday. A doctor on board evaluated him during the flight before he was met upon arrival and transported for further treatment. He remained in the hospital overnight for observation.

Early speculation suggested the issue could be related to gallstones, but his publicist said that possibility was ruled out by medical staff. Feldman was still undergoing evaluation and awaiting MRI results as of Tuesday morning.

Feldman, known for his roles in 1980s films including “The Goonies” and “Stand by Me,” has recently been traveling across the country for screenings marking the 40th anniversary of “Stand by Me.” He has appeared at events alongside former co-stars, including Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton.

In recent days, he shared social media posts from screenings in Indianapolis and Chicago, with the latter taking place Sunday. His most recent post showed him visiting the site of Michael Jackson’s childhood home in Gary, Indiana, shortly before the in-flight medical incident.
