 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler.  COURT SENTENCES TWO KIDNAPPERS IN EKITI STATE TO DEATH BY HANGING


A high court of Ekiti state has convicted and sentenced the kidnappers, Ibrahim Abubakar and Abdullahi Abubakar to death by hanging.


Delivering the verdict, the Chief Judge of Ekiti state, Justice Lekan Ogunmoye who gave the order sentenced two convicts to death by hanging and discharged the third defendant, Usman Abubakar.


The matter bordered on the abduction of Omoboade Adesina, a female National Youth Service Corps member in Ekiti state, on 22nd April, 2022. 


Justice Lekan Ogunmoye commended the diligence of DSS prosecutors for proving the case beyond reasonable doubt.
