 Flights suspended to Ethiopian holy town of Lalibela as fighting expands Flights to the historic Ethiopian town of Lalibela ​were suspended on Thursday due to fighting nearby, seven sources said, as residents in the Tigray region to the north stocked up on food and ‌cash, fearing that renewed fighting could trigger another major war. Tigrayan forces seized three local airports and launched attacks in Afar and Amhara regions with allies there this week, in the most serious escalation since a devastating 2020-22 war against Ethiopian government troops. In its first public comments on the fighting, Ethiopia's army said on Thursday that it had foiled the attacks and killed, wounded or captured more than 500 enemy fighters.  FRSC  PATROL OPERATION RECOVERS  STOLEN VEHICLE IN EDO STATE


The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered a stolen vehicle by personnel of the Iruekpen Unit Command, Edo State.


In a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, The recovery occurred on Sunday, 14 June 2026, following a distress report received by the patrol team concerning a Toyota Camry, gold in colour, with registration number RBC 987 CM, which was reportedly stolen from a church premises in Benin City earlier in the day.


The suspect found in possession of the vehicle claimed to be a delivery agent but has been handed over to officers of the Nigeria Police Force and taken into custody for further interrogation.
